surely you must think they lead more exciting lives than you....
or are you saying their lives are more exciting but not any happier?

I think people are just jealous of everything they have. I personally don't care about them.

This is a very good question and also a big question. I'll try. The root of the question is the definition of happiness. Being rich and famous does not mean too much to me, but being helpful and kind is. How to live a full life is everyone's choice. I do not have the right to be critical of other people's life style, but I do not care much about, let alone being obsessed, with celebrities. However, some of the celebrities are very caring and thoughtful people, so I respect them a lot. I am not sure if this answers the question.

It's kind of controversial, but the answer eventually is obvious imo.

The famous,. they lead sucky lives unless they crave attention. People who crave attention will do fine as a famous person.

Let's say you don't crave attention. And you're famous. Here it begins to become controversial. Being famous blows, cause you don't like attention all too much, press is becoming real annoying.

You can't drink a smoothie without seeing it reflected in a camera lens.

Only deciding factor left is the money. Well, the money, is always, no doubt, worth it.

Being rich is the best thing that you can have in this world. If you have money, you can buy time off, you won't have to eat cheap crap food, etc. For the money, in no doubt, it's worth it and this will also come paired with a slightly animated happiness, instead of a true bliss.

Bliss isn't something you should live for though. As long as you can use the word happiness in reference to yourself; your life is a success.

I am not obsessed with celebrities but you are right about some people. They take things to far. I guess it is easier to try and be a part of something that exists then to make something happen for yourself. I would say they need to get a life of their own.

Because they are richer then me, which gives them a lifestyle I probably will never obtain. I don't know if I'm obsessed, but I do keep up on the gossip. Our media portrays them as so much larger then life, that you can't go anywhere without seeing Britney's privates, reading about the latest yacht purchase of Diddy's etc.

However, my interest is tinged with pity. I am SO blessed with a wonderful family that it makes me realize their lifestyles can not compare with my wonderful life.

people like me are sometimes obsessed with celbrities because SOME are really HOT and GORGEOUS. but if i was given a chance to live a celebrity life, i'd say no 'coz it's better to live a normal life than being chased by paparazzi. especially when i'm not wearing underwear...

Except if by celebrities you mean: Einstein, Freud, Jesus, Buddha, Dalai Lama and the kind.... ?
Because, they are or were not exactly self-centred so, it is maybe not so bad to think of them once in a while, I would say...
