We operate in three different roles of parent,child and adult.
When we are angry and want to tell someone off we act in parent therefore imitating the parent.

"Eddie", "oink", & "flowerbud" are right - it's a subcouncious act to make oneself bigger.
Think of a racoon or a cat puffing up when threatened.
Dogs can't puff up, so they bark to make noise.
