The first clocks had only one hand as they imitated the sun dial. This hand measured the hour and revoved around the clock face every 12 hrs. However, this was not too accurate- and so a second hand was added - this measured the minutes and revolved around the face once every hour. However, this was not too accrate and so a minute hands was added -this revolves around the face once every minute. The problem is the word 'second' as people think this relates to the unit of time whereas in reality it is the order in which the hand was added to the dial. First or hour hand - second hand - minute hand. NOT first ,minute, second.

Let's see, i work at a watch store, and the third hand on most watches ticks the seconds in a minute. Unless the watch is a chronograph, then you usually find the seconds be ticked away somewhere else on the watch.....got to Timex.com if you have anyother questions

Because you can't count.Learn by using your fingers and an abacus. Then slowly progress to using a calculator. No more than one hour a day, and then up it from there. But be careful because I lost the use of my hands from typing too quickly.I'm using a pencil through my teeth to punch the keys, have you got any spare fingers?
