Not a virus, probably clutter. Your computer probably hasn't been cleaned up in a while. You need to defrag your hard drive, disable unecessary background processes, check your startup programs for stuff that shouldn't be there, make sure you're up to date on all your patches, and, if you can, get a windows registry cleaner like the one used in Norton Utilities.

If your experience level with computers is low, a good geek friend could do a lot in a very short amount of time.

Its a memory error indicating that you are either overflowing or you have a memory leak. You must have been running heavy applications or downloading a lot and this might have caused you memory to get full. Nothing like a virus attack. Better check out your memory status and get more memory if you are running out of memory. This can be done in many ways. From one task manager in performance tab. Check wether you are running on low memory. Else reduce the number of downloads you are doing at a time. Also increasing the page file size should help you.

You must have lots of stuff on the computer so it is not able to down load, if it gets stuck down loading then, it cannot read.
