I think Kurt Cobain was a genius. He had an innovative style of music, deep lyrics, and a talent that changed the face of rock music. In a time wher music like Bon Jovi was all the rage, Cobain opened the doors for grunge rock and revolutionized the music industry. It's too bad he was murdered. If you are scoffing at that notion, please read the facts. Kurt was injected with a triple deadly dose of heroin. He would have been totally incapacitated and unable to pull the trigger on the shotgun. Kurt's arms were not long enough to pull the trigger when the gun was turned backwards. Kurt's suicide note was NOT a suicide note. It was a note to his fans about quitting the music industry. SOMEONE added a note to Courtney and his daughter Francis at the bottom of the letter (in a different handwriting). They found a practice handwriting copying sheet in Courtney's bag. Someone was using Kurt's credit card when he was "missing" but they stopped using it when he was found dead. Kurt had just told Courtney he wanted a divorce. You do the math...

I'd have to say Kurt Cobain, because The Doors and The Beatles were around for awhile longer than Nirvana. All of them definately built the foundation of rock music.

Wow, they all were so ahead of their time, but my choice would have to be John Lennon. His life was so rich, and his aspirations were noble. As great as Cobain and Morrison were, they didn't spend their honeymoon in a "bed-in" for peace.

"All We Are Saying, Is Give Peace a Chance."

I would also say John Lennon. His lyrics, music, lifestyle and marriage were so interesting. Sure Kurt started the "grunge" era but was he really all that great? Now, his widowed wife just rides on his memory for fame.
