Pitbulls are one of the breeds most likely to cause serious injuries to people.

According to the Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes are responsible for 74% of attacks that were included in the study, 68% of the attacks upon children, 82% of the attacks upon adults, 65% of the deaths, and 68% of the maimings. In more than two-thirds of the cases included in the study, the life-threatening or fatal attack was apparently the first known dangerous behavior by the animal in question.

A pitbull is very well known for being a killer because of all the dog attacks that involved them. But, a pitbull can be nice. It really depends on the owner and how the dog is raised. It the dog is abused and mistreated, there is a good chance it will grow into a killer. But, while a puppy, if the dog is well cared for, it may be a lovable dog. Pitbulls do attack at times because it is basically part of their nature. All dogs do.

The one on little rascals was very nice!

It does depend on the owner, how it is raised. I do not believe everyone should have these dogs, and some other dogs.
I have been attacked by one and my son will also carry a scar from being attacked. I luckily had my ear stitched back up, if the dog would have gotten me just a little this way or that I can just imagine what my face would look like! Both attacks were not provoked and by two different pits....
These dogs were not properly trained, nor in these two cases did the owners have any business having such dogs....

I have owned several pitbulls and they have been the most loving dogs I have ever owned. I currently have a pit, and she is the sweetest thing in the world. She is very protective if someone comes over she doesn't know, but she has never even attempted to bite anyone. And she is good with kids, even kids that aren't so nice to her. I wouldn't trade her for the world!

Normally depends on how the owner raises them. However, there have been a few cases where pitbulls turned on their owners. If they are raised to be friendly from a pup, they can be very good pets.

As a breed, they are a loyal family dog. But then you have all those morons training them to fight other dogs, and just treating them badly. The dog is only as good as the owner. I've met plenty of wonderful pitbulls.

Depends on how it was raised to be. I know some that are like big lovable teddy bears, and then I have seen some that are purely vicious.
