I think it is too early to tell. While three Super Bowl wins and the MVP awards are important, players that have their numbers retired usually prove themselves over a very long period of time. I suspect the jury is still out on whether he will be so honored or not. If he stays healthy and continues to be surrounded by a good team, I don't see why he won't eventually be honored in this way.

Number retirement in the NFL is rare because of the dwindling availability of numbers to go around. This limitation of numbers is the reasn the NFL recently allowed WR's to have numbers in the teens. Since WR's now can have the same numbers available as QB's, it is now even less likely that Tom Brady's will be retired. Of all the players in the game today, he and Peyton are the most likely to have theirs retired.

i'm confident neither one in each and every of those gamers reported that. grant a source and that i'll take decrease back my answer, even with the undeniable fact that, I surely doubt it because that anybody is political at the same time as it includes activities commentating. what number cases did you listen Joe Montana tell Jamarcus Russell to retire? And he may've tell that guy to take a hike earlier he reported some thing about Manning. it really is like the great boys membership too, Joe Montana shouldn't communicate about a destiny hall of acceptance QB. And making the great Bowl two times is only no longer choking interior the playoffs. Romo is chocking interior the playoffs. no longer Manning.

If you look back on the last couple of seasons, then yes he deserves to have his number retired. But if you look at this season, he has been struggling some. There is no doubt in my mind that is number will be retired. He has lead the NE to three Super Bowl Titles in four years. A guy like that does not come around often.

I was unaware of his retirement or plans to retire actually. WHEN he retires I would expect that at some point they will. Short of something happening that makes him become about 10 times worse then his numbers so far has been.

Oh and bluejacket you better look up the numbers, he is the THIRD, not second. Bradshaw won FOUR with the Steelers, and four may not be three but he did win THREE titles first. Montana did it with the 49ers also.

Yess....most people would take him as their first choice to build a team around. How many QBs ever win three super bowls?

And yes, NFL teams do retire numbers.

I would bet they would. Unbeaten in Super Bowls and only the second QB ever to win three titles...certainly worth retiring his number. Hell, he could be a candidate for the HOF.

I think it's a possibility right now but would be definite if he gets another ring. The way he's been playing this year and last is not good enough though.
