I have an ATI Radeon 9800 and for some reason my computer keeps crashing everytime i play a 3D game. Atfter about a minute into a 3D game my monitor freezes and messes up, there is also a weird box in the top left corner of the monitor that looks like a no-reception TV when my computer freezes.

Also, after about 30s of this freezing, my monitor suddenly closes and says "no input detected" - something like that.

Can someone please tell me what i can do to fix this?

You might try turning down some of the graphics, like anti-aliasing.

amazing all the responses blaming it on a virus. wow.

you have a hardware compatibilty issue. my guess is the video card is conflicting with another piece of hardware. Wa it working before, or did you just install this video card? could be the integrated video on your motherboard is trying to come on and mucking up the works. I'd take it into the shop and let a pro install that card.

The first thing you should do is delete the 3D games

the second download an anti virus software and check there is any virus or not ............
if things go well its okay
but if it doesn't then you should consult the right people "computer repairers "

does it have an integrated temp control? check to see if its overheating. you can easily add a pci fan and keep it cooler, and while you're at it, reseat the card. try to get the newest drivers from ati.com of course

This is a major problem which I think is resulted by a vius. So I would sugest going to your product's manufacturer support center.

your vga is not a good one!
you have to buy a gforce or something similar or quit playing 3d games on that computer
