I understand that you are fresh grad.

Networking domain is a good fit for your education. This domain has good value in India and other countries. Need for this profile is increasing significantly with more companies/people getting connected and more projects managed by IT companies for their clients.

Fresh candidates with good communication and learning skills and good theoretical understanding in Networking (preferably a certification like CCNA) can find jobs easily with big IT companies.

However, it is not easy to pickup skills through readings alone -- one needs strong hands-on knowledge. It is relatively easy to practice a programming language at home, but for networking, you must join a course to get access to routers/switches or take a job that will provide hands-on training.

CCNA level of knowledge (preferably with the certification) is a key to get a job with companies like HCL, Wipro, Infosys and many more that provide managed network services (such as network design, installation, support, etc). In recent times, value of CCNA is diluted due to question dumps.

Look at CCNA syllabus to focus on areas of study and prepare for interviews.
