Rich b is absolutely correct. Political correctness will destroy our country as we have known it for the last 250 yrs. Christmas is a national holiday in acted by congress. The Christmas tree is the symbol of this holiday for belivers and non belivers of Christ. I am not a christian but what I fear more than being converted is the political correctness regime allowing our country to be over taken by,and falling to a group of immigrants that have no intentions of being American to the core of there heart, but rather plans to destroy us within. The Christmas tree must remain a symbol of "Christmas" not become a item thrown in the closet of holidays.

I believe in GOD , I`m not a holly rolling christian that thinks my viewes out to rule the world but I THINK THIS ISSUE IS STUPID AND GETTING REAL OLD. Christmas was the birth of Jesus not the birth of the holidays. Political correctness is ignorant it just gives politicians one more way to BEND the truth and get away with it , It is turning our children in to spineless wimps and giving atheist all the rights and taking all the rights away from Christians. How bout call it what you want pray if you want don`t if you don`t want to . Simple as that. This country was based on God !!! People need to get a life if they get offended by someone saying merry Christmas to them..it`s not the words they should be worried about it is the thought behind it they should say thank you and happy holidays back IT`S THE THOUGHT of someone being nice to you is we should focus on. If a Jew said happy Hanuka to me I would say thank you and a merry Christmas to you with a feeling of joy in my heart that someone took the time in these days to be nice...

It is a holiday tree, but the holiday is Christmas. When the other holidays get trees, then he can call it that. And technically, it's an Evergreen, so if he want's to be all PC, he doesn't have to go wtih the whole "holiday-" thing, that alone's getting annoying fast.

I'm not Christian and even I think it should be called a Christmas tree. They originated with the idea of Christmas, so why not call it by the holiday it rightfully represents? Theres nothing else it represents as far as I know. Hannukah? No. Ramadan? No. Kwanza? No. Etc, etc,

I think Senator Patty Murray has too much free time and should refocus energy on things like the national debt, the war in Iraq, New Orleans, homeless, alternative energy, blah blah blah.

It is a Christmas tree, specifically for the celebration of Christmas. Don't steal our religious symbols and try to make them some secular all-inclusive event. Leave Christmas alone!

I suppose it depends entirely on if the good old USofA is a secular nation or a religious one; if it allows freedom of speech or if only one group of people have the right to speak; if it allows freedom of religion or only one or only allows Christians or if it allows people to not be religious if they want. Until you change your constitution to reflect the fact that you are want to be a Theocracy, want to only have one state religion, and plan to convert everyone into that religion on pain of death, I guess you will have to allow your first amendment to stand, and allow this Senator to call it whatever the Senator wants.

I am thinking of calling it a "holiday lifeform" as not to offend other plant or animal life. Until this thoery takes off it is a Chrastmas tree.

Absolutely wrong. What state is she from ? When is her reelection up? We cannot allow the PC's of the world destroy what is Christmas or any other Christian showing that they have.
