A couple of nights ago I was woken up with sharp pains in my lower abdomen which lasted about 5 minutes. I haven't had anything similar since but I can still 'feel' it if that makes sense, but it doesn't hurt. Please don't say go to the doctors, i'm sure its nothing major and if I am in pain again I will go but I don't want to waste mine and the doctor's time over something which may just be as trivial as period pains or something I ate disagreed with me.

Go see your doctor immediately! I had a friend that that happened to and she went to the emergency room and found out that she Pelvic Immflamatory Disease(PID), which requires treatment ASAP if you don't want to ravage your reproductive system. Good luck, hope you feel better.

ok........ but if it is the start of something more serious, don't u think that your doctor would have preferred you to get it checked out sooner rather than later ??? you're right, it probably is just something minor, but there is a chance that it could be something more serious. for example, the first sign of ovarian cancer is pain in your lower abdomen that doesn't go away (and it doesn't have to be intense pain for it to be serious)..... or it could be cysts on your ovaries, or fibroids...... i know u don't want to go to the doctors, but unless u do, u are only going to be guessing at what is wrong. you could also try logging on to the NHS direct website. u get to 'speak' to someone online who would know more about these kind of things. hopefully it will be nothing to worry about, but please get it checked out.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/Dz026

So what do you want us to say to you? Ignore the pain? Yes, you can, if it won't happen again. But if the pain returns YES you need to see a doctor.

It could have been a cyst that ruptured. I suggest you go see a doc asap.
