Which pair should I use? Would the red pair which say "Prisoner of Love" be more appropriate?

The red pair would only be appropriate if the criminal is good looking, but then, you wouldnt be arresting one that wasnt would you? I wouldnt! Hope his baton matches your hand cuffs ;-)

I believe truth be told is correct.
In there somewhere I also think that you really need to for sure that you are correct in your actions as you could be just as liable as a police officer who illegally detains the wrong person.
I am sure there is some legal liability in doing this.
You had better know what you are doing as I doubt the average citizen is going to go with you peacably and there are more guns out there than even the police know and you could get yourself shot.
My question is. . .how are you going to determine who gets arrested with the plastic cuffs verses the metal ones?
Personally I haven't seen too many people who I would want to take the time to hassle with. . .haven't seen too many major crimes being committed.
Do you have a "cop wanna be" fetish?

Whatever you do dont use your handcuffs if you are trying a citizens arrest unless you are properly trained in using them, and if the person is so violent I would just observe and call the police.

If you injure someone when handcuffing them you are liable to assault charges. Its a very dodgy area of the law but trust me the criminals have more rights and better solicitors than those trying to protect themselves or their property.

Don't try to take someone into custody.

Be a good witness, and report their location to the police, but do not try to handcuff them. You can attempt to subdue someone if you feel they are placing you are someone else in immediate danger, but let the police take them into custody.

Edit: "Prisoner of Love?" LMAO!

Should you effect a "citizen's arrest" and be found to have exceeded your jurisdictiion's legal rules on doing so (each is different), you run the risk of a civil suit for false imprisonment.

Leave policing to the police.

Have a look at this website:

Who are you planning on arresting?

EDIT
Oh, I've just seen the Additional Details entry you made. I guess you are going to be 'arresting' someone in your bedroom.

I believe you can forcibly detain someone, as long as you call the police IMMEDIATELY. If you delay even a little while, you open yourself up to charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and the sort......

If you tried to arrest me I would shoot you with my snub nose revolver.
