Along with his official receipt after staying at our hotel, a foreign guest (Nigerian) asked me to give him a blank receipt, stamped. I thought that was a bit odd but OK I did it, but afterwards he asked for more..... Could I get into trouble for doing this, issuing blank receipts?

Any advice would be much appreciated. I looked online for any sort of scam linked to this but came up with nothing.

It can be used in the commiting of Fraud including as stating above, claiming back expenses as noted above.

I know that Hotel Systems can print a 'blank' receipt saying "No charges made" across the columns, so this solves both riddles.

If you are in this situation again, you could either refuse, or write "No charges" accross the whole thing. That would stop them.

If it was just once you did it, the most you can fairly receive if a slapping with a feather and told not to do again, to which you reply 'sorry, did not know, won't do it again'. Problem solved.

issue blank receipts once he has paid for hotel receipt
charge him more than what his receipt is for round it up to nearest 5 or 10. No blank receipts if they are not going to
"tip" your charge for.

They want blank receipts to fill in a larger price, then charge it to their company's expense account which reimburses them with amount on receipt.
He is scamming his firm. He tipped you for souvenir service, you are not doing a thing wrong.
His bill may of been 55 but his expense account maybe 200 a day

I used to manage a hotel, and can't figure out any way the guest could get you or your company in trouble, but now that you know you'll have to decide how you feel about ir morally> And how your employers would feel about your morals when they find out...

Technically YES:

You are assisting this guy in committing Fraud.

If the authorities do catch one of you, then yes you will get into trouble.......

Be careful,

If his company is paying for his stay then he could write in that it cost more and claim more money back.

He will probably be using them to claim fraudulent expenses from his employer. I wouldn't do it if I were you - can be seen as guilty by association - and your employer would not be happy if they found out.
