i have a silver ring with a swastika in a cross and the date 1939. can anyone shed any light on this?

It was common for men who had been awarded the Iron Cross to wear a ring that indicated the fact.
Hitler re-introduced the iron-cross and had the swastika placed in the middle.
It sounds to me that the ring you have was once worn by a germany soldier during the WWII that had been awarded the Iron Cross

Sounds like something that would have been given to an Officer in the 3rd Reich from Hitler or one of his croanies
