I don't know about making shoes myself, and it would depend a lot on the type of shoes you had in mind since they can be so different. Try some of these sites though:

As for making jewelry, there are groups and lessons online that focus on the mechanical parts of "making jewelry"--like connecting the beads together (or whatever you're using), making clasps, deciding on and using various types of cording, knotting, etc.
And there are also groups and lessons for using certain materials for jewelry (like seed beads, purchased beads, and making beads of all kinds from polymer clay or from air-dry clays or all kinds of other materials including glass), as well as making certain types of jewelry (like necklaces or "collars," bracelets, earrings, barrettes and other hair items, buttons, etc.)
Here are at least some sites or groups to get you started:

These next pages are at my website which largely deals with making things (including jewelry of course) with polymer clay (that's the kind of clay that's baked at a low temperature in a home oven for a short time to harden it), but a lot of the info on these pages would also be helpful for any kinds of beads or jewelry making in general:

(... click on making "Basic Wire Shapes" for lessons on making connectors, clasps, etc.)

(If you should want to try polymer clay, I don't know which brands are sold in South Africa or where they might be sold at retail, but I have the info about one mail order person nearby --though it may be out of date!:
South Africa or nearby? ... ron.armstrong@pixie.co.za . . . we can supply Fimo clay @ R 9.75 + vat + postage Ronald
....And check here too:
