can watch a movie on my puter but when i download it to a dvd it wont play on any other dvd player i have just is a black screen tried tried but no can do had this question posted before said they have to be mpg tried that tried avi tried them all . I have a dvd burner using sonic and nero but still they wont play on any player but my puter

Since you have Nero, there is a selection in it for burn a Video DVD. It has to go through the file and convert it to a format called VOB. If you use the Nero DVD creator, it will do that for you automatically while it is burning the file to the DVD. The conversion process can take a while (as in a couple hours) on slower PCs. You can NOT just copy the mpg or the avi to a DVD and have it play on most DVD players.

does your dvd player support the type file that you are trying to play? I remember I had some song downloaded but they wont play in my stereo, they do play in 1 of my dvd players and it played in the car
