I haven't seen her in years and she's moved out of state.

It would be easier to find out her address and phone number. Because there is not a data base of all email addresses. If you know her Email provider that's a start. Try searching for her name in the lists of registered users in hotmail, yahoo, AOL. etc...
I recommend trying an online phone book and just calling her. Also a google search for her name, if it is not very common that may help you find something.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. You can try her_name@yahoo.com, name_surname@hotmail.com...etc but it may not work :( So let me tell you what i've done:

I used the google search, but i didn't use her name. Instead, I wrote the common things about her ( the school we once were, the phrases she usually speak...) in the search box and voila! I found her own blog, i sent her a message and we are still in touch.

Name may not work because she didn't write her name in the blog. You can try this one if

1- You knew each other very well
2- She had a blog or she somehow get involved in the net (by forums or maybe yahoo!Answers , who knows!)

That's the best i can tell you, it worked for me.. Good Luck ;)

don't think that you will get the magical answer.

Suppose that the address was under a Yahoo user-name. Try to contact Yahoo and ask if you can get your erased e-mails back. In fact, I don't know if the erase them or if the save everything under tons of hard drives.

If you remember a part of her user-name then to some researches with the search engine. Example, if you remember that my user-name was with at least speak and Pierre then try (with gogles and others) pierrespeak, or speakpierre and maybe you will find something.
Good luck!
