Open the hood and disconnect the battery ground terminal.
Its the easest and you can do it without being shocked.
This method will not work on older cars with a generator (pre 1965)
If its a standard shift ,set the parking brake, step on the brake pedal and let the clutch out while the car is in gear, it will stop the engine.

Depends on gas/diesel - but normal circumstance unplug disturbutor/coil, or pull fuel pump relay. If it's overheating a dieseling (no ignition power, but cylinder temp is causing combustion), then pluging the intake with a heavy cloth usually works, as long as it's dense. (Past experience with a HO 455-Rocket...)

if you can't get to the egnition key pull the coil wire but wear thick gloves for protection from shock also try to smother if it cannot run with out air , take the air filter off and plug the hole with a non breathable materail . if that does not work pull the spark plugs till it dies

disconnect the battery(might not work), pull off the middle spark plug on the disputer cap, pump out the gas. if it uses glow plugs umm idk what to do... close the air intake and choke it to death!!
yes! the fuses pull out fuses in the box till it turns off or just find the one for the fuel pump! usley fuses are above the brake and gas pedel so youll need a light and to have to get low to the ground to see it!

(if its running on a joe cell tell me how you did it!!)
