* Following a burglary to my house in Famagusta, the police had failed to search the exact suspected location, as the army was intervening because the husband of the thief is an officer in the Turkish army.
* The police had failed to arrest the seller of our stolen goods, dispite the evedence provided by us like:
1- 4 items bought from the seller.
2- The buyer gave a statement.
3- the buyer provided text SMS received from the seller.
4- The buyer provided a recorded tape of her & the seller's voice , the seller saying 2 she had plenty of hand bags", & asking the buyer not to tell my wife( mentioning her name) as that would put her in trouble.
* The police was cooperating with the seller to trip us off by knowingly providing us none stolen properties ( supplied by the sellers with ther receipts), so for us to check them!!

That should be a lesson to everyone that has dealings with an illegitimate regime established by an occupying military force. The only legal entity that has responsibility in the occupied areas is the Turkish Army. You can take Turkey to the European Court of Human Rights if you feel that your human rights are being violiated. Unfortunately a british court (Orams case) refused to review the case because the EU law is suspended in the areas not controlled by the Cyprus Gov. You can try and see if they change their mind.

Since the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is only recognised by The Turkish Republic, you almost certainly need a Turkish lawyer. Personally. I think you're on a sticky wicket.

Simple answer is NO !!! North Cyprus, TRNC, is not recognised by the UK or any other country apart from Turkey !! However, the UK community in TRNC is very very strong, the majority of the TRNC economy is made up from UK investors in homes and business's and therefore the UK community has a strong voice. They are too dependant on our money to be quite blunt

You will have to speak with an English speaking solicitor in Famgusta who can take up your case
