I took my daughter to the movies when she was 5 months but she loves to watch tv that is why I took her. We went to a kid movie though. I wanted to test her to see if she would watch it. She sat awake the whole time. We ssaw Barnyard. I guess it depends on the baby and the movie that you are going to see.

Do you mean to go see a movie at a theater? I would say that this depends on the child and their maturity level. Does your child or the child in question have a longer attention span? I would say age three or above. To see a movie at home is different. Age 6 months or above. Baby Genius or Einstein make good baby education movies. However, some experts recommend that a child does not watch any television at all until age two or older. Unfortunately, a movie is a good baby-sitter when you are trying to wash dishes, etc.

My twins are 2 1/2 years old, and we have never taken them to the movies yet....they are well behaved kids, but we just dont want to chance them getting bored ect. Some movie theaters actually have a set time and day when mothers can take their babies, and some now even have special rooms you can take a crying baby into so they dont disturb others. We just don't have one like that around here. Good luck!

I brought my daughter to the movies with us from week 2 until about 9 months old. She was able to be quiet the entire time (with a small exception of a badly needed diaper change or bottle) and usually slept the whole time. After 9 months, she wanted to move too much to sit still long enough for us to enjoy the movie, so we don't bring her anymore now.

It completely depends on the child and their attention span. My friend has been taking her son to the movies since he was about 18 months. My daughter is 2 and a half and still can't sit down long enough to watch a movie.

My son just turned two in October and he can sit and watch an entire movie at home, I am not sure about the theater yet. But my boy loves Garfield, Winnie the Pooh Heffalump. He will get his blanket and lay against a pillow and watch the entire movie.

If he's little enough to sleep through the whole thing, or old enough to sit still through the whole thing, then he's the right age. If he's in-between, then it's best to find a sitter - he won't enjoy the movie if he's fussy, and neither will you!

It depends on the movie.. And the baby.
If it's the type to sleep through loud noises, then any age is probably fine..
If it's a crier.. Please don't take her to the movies.. There's nothing more annoying than babies and little children who scream through a whole movie.

Take your baby to the movies when he/she's old enough to sit still, not kick the seats, and listens when you (or anyone else) says "Shhh!"
There is nothing more irritating in a theater than a baby crying.
Hey, we're paying around $8- plus popcorn!
Please, please wait till your baby's ready!

There are no age limitations for the baby to see movies. When he sits before TV for much time then he is old enough for movies.
