I used to regard them highly. I wish you would speak out against Osama Bin Laden! I used to believe that perhaps you were just afraid of the terrorists as well. Now I believe you are happy for what he is doing! Are you happy? If you are, then do not ask me what I think of you!

Thank you for asking this question. I think that there is a stigma about Americans that is not altogether true. I have talked to many people that are not from my country, and it seems that they have the idea that Americans have a lot of hate and bitterness. I can understand that view, however, because there are many uneducated, over-opinionated people. But, that's true for any country.
It's my belief that you have to get to know a person before you can have any thoughts about them. We all know it's wrong to just judge someone, but we as humans do it anyway. I think we, on the whole, have a very bad habit of that. Appearance, accent, religion, etc., are used as pegholes to put people into. It has been my experience in the area of Islamic people, that it is no one's right to judge anyone else. Every religion has its hypocrites and pharisees. Even the non-religious have creeds and codes of conduct that they do not always adhere to. So to peghole an entire religion and then go on to judge an ethnic group is not an ethical thing to do.
Every religion has, as it's goal, the betterment of mankind. Each has it's own way of dealing with wrong and right. Each has its own lifestyle and culture. I think that diversity is a beautiful thing. One of the most beautiful people I think I will ever meet was a girl from Morocco that was my roommate for almost a year. She had a very sincere, realistic heart and mind. She accepted me like as if I was her sister, and we remain friends to this day. I think one of the greatest things about her friendship, is that she taught me how to agree to disagree. That's a very valuable lesson. However great it was to have the opportunity to get to know this Moroccan girl, I had a bad experience with a few Lebanese Arabs. Not all of them were Muslims. Not all of them were religious at all. So, you can't base an opionion on a single person by a status quo or general consensus. I've found that the most beautiful things in life are sometimes enjoyed with a bit of skepticism, but not reproach. Islam as a whole, is a very pure, but difficult religion and way of life. I admire the people that have that much faith. I am not a Muslim, and I find it a challenge to have the kind of faith I see my Islamic friends living. In conclusion, I have liked most of the Arab people I've made friends with. I think that's because the people I am drawn to are generally nice anyway....Arab or not. ( :

These are two questions really...Islam is the same as it was at 670 AD...you cannot stagnate in a socally evolving society,it is by definition destructive(anything that doesn't evolve and adapt dies...)the same tried the Christian church with destructive results but the nations, step by step forced the separation of church and state and the Christian world progressed;not so with the Arabs;religion and state is one with evident negative results.
Arabs became Muslims and tried to prove the correctness of their
religion by translating and comparing ancient philosophers and anything useful from the european avd persian worlds thus developing a good civilization which went on until the infiltration of the Turks into the Arab world in the late 11th century(see the crusades with Arab eyes-Barns&Noble)who they consider as the destroyers of Arab civilization, then Arabs stagnate and time stops, with regression and a new counterproductive mentality, until
today;they allow the extremists to use them as shield and complaint that they are shot first in the unorthodox warfare the extremists conduct within their own societies, and they don't try to fight them and supress them, unfortunately,so they allow the Bushes of these world to do what they do with known results...

I think highly of Islam and most Arabs. I actually have a friend that is a Iraqi Shiite, living in Iraq. We discuss the war in Iraq and try to learn about each others life and cultures.I know that most are peaceful and practice their religion in a peaceful manner. What I do not understand is why they allow a few Clerics that are fanatics to ruin their whole region. There is no way they will ever destroy Israel and the United States without completely destroying the whole Middle East and all of the Arab homelands. They accuse us of being arrogant and not learning about Arab customs ( I am trying) but they do not attempt to really understand Americans either. While I admit we are arrogant at times, we are also proud (as are you) and stubborn.

I don't think islam or arabs are bad people. I believe the teachings of radical islam is what makes good islamics look bad. The islamic extremists spew hate and make their followers believe that the quran tells them to hate America.

I think there is too much misunderstanding between the west and Islam( Which is not only Arab) I know Americans have a stereotype with Arabs as Arabs have a stereotype with Americans and and stereotyping is wrong. So two wrongs don't make it right!
I hope one day we can learn about one another because right now
there is too much ignorance on both sides!
