How long did you wait to, try again, after having an ectopic pregnancy? How long after your ep did you have a successful pregnancy?

Thanks ahead of time for your answers. Your input will really help me a lot.

I found out I was pregnant on 10/30/06 and my right fallopian tube ruptured/surgery was on 10/31/06. I went to my checkup with my obgyn two weeks ago. She said that my left tube is fine. She also told me that we can start trying again after I get my first period (which is right now). She said that I have a 1 in 3 chance of it happening again. She also said that it was sort of strange for this to have happened because I don't have an of the risk factors for ep's so, my chances are alittle better because of that. Obviously there's a lot more involved (emotionally speaking) that hinders us from trying right now. But, we've been talking about it and wondering what kind of results other people have had.

3 months, but follow your dr advice depends on surgery/vs rupture etc, and also your emotional state, you will get pg again!! have your other tube checked though for your safety! plus it can clear your tube to check it.

If your doctor told you that you could try again after your first period, then I would say that it is "safe" to try again. Emotionally, though, you might not be ready. Most women would be worried if their doctor didn't give them any better reassurance than your doctor did.
If you are concerned or confused, you should consider seeing another doctor to see if you can get any more promising answers, or a possible solution to make those odds better. (Babycenter gives more promising numbers than your doctor gave to you.) Also look for support groups, as they may have answers to questions you haven't thought of.

Best of Luck to you!
