i wouldnt recomend it for various reasons.
1) the power supply over there is different - and therefore you will need to get hold of a power pack in the uk
2) the games/manuals/dvd's you get will be in cantonese
3) uk games/dvd will not play - due to format and regon differences.

Apart from all the other answers, you might find the warranty invalid. Sony released news when the PS3 UK delay was first announced saying that any imported systems would not be repaired / replaced under the warranty system. Buyer beware!

U might not be able to play PAL games bought from the UK.
And the language might be a big problem rofl.

I wouldnt i wiould get it from ebay or Amazon as they are more trusted i find.
