Any nationality required visa to enter bahrain
If you change you idea of coming to bahrain by Land, it may be more better if you fly by air
Why by land is very difficult, first of all you have to cross the saudi border, which is more difficult in obtaining visa and again you have to obtain visa on King Fahad Causeway (which links bahrain to saudi by Sea 34 kms Bridge), in order to reach bahrain easier, pls. fly by air
like dubai, bahrain also a regional hub of connecting many international destination
needless to mention there is lot of flights available to bahrain
if you consider to save money on your journey, have a look in the prices of air arabia, if beleive they are much cheaper in operating in this route
before starting your journey, you may stamp you visa in dubai itself by applying for 20 DHS application fee, it is much better, becasue if they have any clarification, you can clear it there itself
there is another way of getting the visa, on arrival, if you are certain western national you will be given visa on arrival @ BD 5/-, maximum 4 weeks you may stay, if you want to extent, this should be done thru immigration
if you are other national, you should be resident of UAE, you may be granted visa on arrival (make sure you have minimum 4-6 months valid visa on your passport), if you are serving there in a manager cader or highly technical or engineering cader, much easier in acquire on arrival

There is no land connection between Dubai and Bahrain. You must pass through at least Saudi Arabia and maybe even Qatar. If you are US citizen and have a valid reason for going to this part of the world, you should be able to get visas from these countries. Have fun driving the long causeway connecting Dahran in Saudi Arabia to Bahrain (It was built about 15 yrs ago).
I think it would be far more cheaper and take much less time and headaches if you just flew on Emirates or Gulf Air between UAE and Bahrain

If you are planing to go by land you might need a visa to enter Saudi Arabia which is difficult to get.
For the visa of Bahrain you can ask the Bahrain embassy in Dubai.
Remember if you are planning to go from Dubai to Bahrain you will have to go to Saudi Arabia first.

Unless you are a native of the GCC countries, you will need separate visas to enter the different Middle East countries.
