I wasn't afraid of much when I was a kid, but now I have a fear of heights. I went to Arizona last spring to visit my brother who resides there & he is an avid hiker. I am sorry to say that I chickened out on most of the hikes. Also, driving around there in all of the those mountains was not fun. I am going to conquer this, somewhat, though. I will be going back there next year and I have promised myself to face my fear. I am going to take baby steps, but I will at least participate more next time. I lost out on seeing a lot of beautiful things. I obsess about it.

I can't remember being afraid of anything as a child. I really don't want to get old and helpless, and become a burden to my family.

LIGHTNING and thunder. Today I am petrified of it (after seeing part of the house behind us burn down)!
