To be human means to be able to exercise free will when taking decisions, including bad ones.
A perfect human being would be a robot and incapable of taking bad decisions, therefore he/she would not be human.

The one single factor that stops a human from being perfect is being human.
It is in our existance as human beings that we need to have the interaction of an imperfect world, so naturally as a reflection and product of this imperfect world,. we are meant to struggle and be imperfect. It is the conflicts both internal and external which forms character and calling.
It is in our struggle for understanding that we become externally imperfect and internally enlightened as we journey through our time on earth.
Our human existance is about the imperfections and the calling of how and why we make the choices we do, and hopefully we will reach an understanding that we are never perfect, just as the world is not perfect and life is not perfect...which makes life interesting, perfectly interesting.

I agree with you about your quote.
It is our thinking which stops from being perfect.
If you know how to use your thinking in a positive way you will be perfect almost. It is our thinking behavior behind every success.
I don't know if you are religious or not but in every religion human is made by God in perfect condition. Jesus said, Kingdom is within you. Now it is up to us how to explore that Kingdom and use it.
Lazy people blame other like that quote. Close your eyes and think are you creation of a God? if so then how could you be not perfect?

It all started in the garden of Eden, when Adam & Eve ate the forbidden fruit, the orginal sin. We are all born with this orginal sin ot those 2, making us imperfect! The only perfect human on earth was Jesus Christ. God made us imperfect so that we would have the freedom of choice to choose in believing in Jesus as our savior or not. I feel that we have the choice to do our best in all matters. God knows that we will not be perfect which makes His love for us even more precious. Not only does He love us when we are at our best but His love for us never diminishes even when we at our worst. I do believe that if a person chooses that quote as their lifes moto & then never strives for anything is lazy! But striving to be perfect when we can't will only lead to discontent and a great sense of utter failure.
It is far better to try your best by using all the reasorces God has given to you & to accept your failures as a great learning tool, to do better next time. If you learn from your mistakes and turn them into sucesses the next time, you will have a greater sense of self worth, & have a happier life. Striving to be perfect in an imperfect world will only make your life miserable. Love yourself as you are & look to Jesus for the answers.

Think of it this way, you are limited to the time you spent here ALIVE. Your constraint is yourself, your lifetime. Age prevents you from doing stuff. If A human (yes that is singular) were to be able to stop time then he'll be able to somehow maybe achieve perfection. But you may be able to achieve perfection with others. Human beings are social beings, these god given traits are things that may be able to lessen the workload life ahs bestowed upon us. If we ahre able to form one unitray community hel;ping each other then we can say HUMANS (PLURAL) have achieved perfection

It pretty much can be anything and everything. First of all what is perfect? You don't know what you don't know, so I conclude that you are not perfect either. Very exciting possibilities for improvement, don't you think? Choose change for the better.
