As I go along definitely, if I have to do it by hand. However, I thank my stars that I have a dishwasher to do most of it. Nothing worse than leaving loads of washing up to do after a big meal and feeling stuffed, worse still leaving it until next day.

We don't have a dishwasher, so I cook and my husband washes-up. BUT, if I use a lot of dishes and utensils in the preparation, I do wash these as I finish each stage of prep. That way, only the actual dishes we use during the meal, plus whatever the food was cooked in, is left for the washer-up. The reason why I like to follow this practice is twofold: firstly, our worktop space is limited; secondly, I can't stand seeing a mess and as we usually eat in the kitchen when we're on our own, this makes it all the more important to clear-up before the meal. Happy cooking!

When I am on my own, I wash up as I go along. This way you can put your feet up after you have eaten. As a family my wife cooks and I wash up. I don't know who gets the best deal, but I think cooking is more rewarding- only wish I was any good!!

I normally do the cooking, and 9 / 10,my husband will wash up as I've finished with the pots and pans, leaving only the dinner plates for later.

I always wash up as I cook, then I have clear decks to work on and use the time efficiently between preparations.
When my wife cooks, the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it. However, she's a far better cook than me.
It's seems to be a character trait, I'm a perfectionist and like the smallest detail to be right, whereas she see's the big picture and goes for it.

Whilst cooking i do whatever dish i have just used. I don't leave any dishes overnight it is too depressing walking into the kitchen and seeing a pile of dirty dishes on the kitchen sink.
Once we have eaten i do the rest and then i know i can sit down and relax:)))

I clean up as I go if I have a bunch of big stuff to clean. Otherwise I wait until after dinner. I am usually doing too many things at once to clean up right away and I don't have a dishwasher.

I clean as I cook since I wash my hands when I change what I am doing.

Depends on what I am doing......

Lots of times I just stick whatever into the dishwasher...

Wash pans/pots right after we finish eating.
