Its not worth the risk. Do you want to lose the baby? She can still do it after the baby is born. But you can't get back the baby after it is gone.

Is it safe to ride horseback during pregnancy?

In general I tell people if they're excellent horseback riders and are just walking around on the horse, they can continue up to 12 weeks. But after 12 weeks, no riding. That's because by this time, the fetus has moved up above the pelvic girdle, a bony structure protects the baby during the first trimester, and now all that sits between the baby and any external force is skin and muscle. If you get kicked or are thrown off the horse at this point, you've got nothing protecting the baby from trauma. Even experienced riders get thrown off; that's part of the game. I just don't think it's worth the risk. I once saw a woman who got kicked in the stomach by a horse and the baby died. Maybe that's why I'm conservative on this.

As long as you're having a normal uncomplicated pregnancy, it wouldn't cause a problem. (There might be some pregnancy complications where you'd restrict activity, like pre-term labor or placenta previa, where you're at risk for bleeding from the placenta.) Otherwise, if you're a regular horseback rider, and you feel confident about your skills and aren't doing things that are treacherous, there's no reason you can't keep on riding.

If riding a horse is something she has done regularly up to this point, it would probably be fine for both mom and baby as long as it's a nice, slow walk and no trotting/running/galloping. If it has been a while, don't risk it unless you are taking her doctor along with you.
But like the first poster said, Cozumel is soooooo very worth the trip. Go anyway and find something else to do, and take tons of pictures to show the baby when he/she's older.

Actually, my very first doctors appointment with my son after the doctor got me all checked out and everything. He was telling me the dos and don'ts and riding horses was on the don't list. I can't exactly remember why but I do remember that was on the don't list. I'm sorry she's so upset but it sounds like it would be for the best to not go on the trail ride. Good Luck and have fun on your cruise! Cozumel is a BEAUTIFUL place. There's plenty of other things to do other than just a trail ride.

no, the jostling can make her miscarry. If you want to keep on the side of caution, plan to go horseback riding when she's had the baby. But don't cancel the trip because of such a small thing. Do something else. Cozumel is gorgeous, she'll have a blast anyway.

i like horses too, and it would make me unhappy no longer having the flexibility to experience (extremely if all of us else on the holiday is doing it)... yet: whether the course is actual severe high quality and he or she rides very slowly, and whether different individuals have achieved it without something undesirable going on to the little one, it relatively is a reality that there is the prospect of the little one getting harm from the shaking / bumping, and the even worse possibility of her falling! I in no way thought i ought to in all probability fall from a horse (or with a horse), till I did (from AND with)... and between the circumstances I fell I wasn't even going quickly, the pony in basic terms tripped. i replaced into very fortunate to no longer get harm (I experience when you consider that i replaced right into a baby, can no longer even remember my first time). loads of the places i've got study and researched (being pregnant web sites, books and articles) propose for us to avert particular activities / activities that would reason "result", shaking or possibility of twist of destiny, which includes: walking, severe-result aerobics, touch activities, skiiing, water snowboarding, and, confident horseback using! i does not possibility my little one's healthiness even for a maximum cherished interest... no be counted how small is the prospect. i'm hoping you adult men locate something distinctive to do the place your spouse can nevertheless delight in... that's no longer the tip of the worldwide, she would be able to do it back to her heart's choose as quickly as the little one is born! wish i replaced into of any help.

Yes she can.
Horse riding is very beneficial for pregnancy as long as the woman is not very far along and doesn't have any complications by the time.
I've been horse riding for many years and I know that for sure.
Of course she needs to know how to ride a horse and not have her first experience in the condition of pregnancy because if she doesn't know how the horse acts she may get scared or stressed and that's no good for her or the baby!!!
Where I go horse riding there are athletes that compete in the condition of pregnancy and also win trophies!

No, that's a bad idea.
Don't do contact sports, downhill skiing, or horseback riding.
"Low impact" activities are ok, but you have to decide what that means to you guys.

It was not suggested by my doctor when I was pregnant. In fact, it was one of the things I was told not to do.
