Can I just say how refreshing it is that there are still SOME women out there who think being a good contribution to society doesn't mean that she has to abandon traditional gender roles? :) *lol*

Know your territory in the home, and make sure your hubby knows the same. The man owns the garage, attic, basement, and home office. Otherwise he only gets veto power provided he doesn't abuse it. The woman owns the rest.
Recognize you can still make a substantial financial contribution. If you can save $70 a week in shopping by prudent price comparison, coupons, waiting for sales, substitution, gardening, etc. that's the same as earning $100 pre-tax.
Keep some personal outside interests, and I don't mean shopping, spending, and home redecorating. This gives you something of your own, and supresses the urge to hound your hubby and kids as soon as they get home to tell you everything they did at work/school that day or redecorate every 3 months.
We live in the age of microwaves, so when you cook something nice or subatantial (be it chicken, beans, italian, etc.) make a little extra and keep it in the fridge for a snack.
Finally, work around the other person. I loved a story my sister told of my niece afer she first got married. My niece was complaining that her husband enptied his pockets of keys, wallet, etc. on the fridge every day and it made the kitchen look messy. My sister told her daughter she was being foolish - he dropped his stuff there because he was well over 6' and it was a convenient place to store them out of everyone's way - he had probably done that his whole life - just put a basket there - its not worth complaining about. You will find things like this eveywhere.
