Maybe, and this is really politically incorrect of me for saying but-
Maybe, just maybe, we're naturally more interesting than they are?

A great man named Chris Hannah once said, "Homophobes are just jealous 'cause they can't get laid." I guess that's part of it. The other part being that the homophobes believe homosexuality will cause corruption amongst the society. Of course, the homophobes usually justify their hatred with some ridiculous argument like "its a sin" or "Jesus hates fags" (which is ridiculous seeing as homosexuality was commonplace in Biblical times--Jesus was probably involved in sexual acts with his disciples). I think that this possibly comes from a kind stoicism inflicted upon society by Christianity whereby people aren't supposed to show emotion. Thus it became taboo for people to touch each other unless for the purpose of procreation. Recently its eased up a bit. However, eastern culture definitely doesn't have the same taboo about touch. It is common in Asia to see members of the same sex put their arms around each other, hold hands, etc. Still in many Asian countries homosexuality is still illegal. I don't think the legality actually has anything to do with the homosexuality part of it though---those governments just don't want anyone having sex for the fun of.
The argument I've heard from some homophobes is that homosexuality is more like to spread disease which I guess could be true as far as anal sex is concerned. But its highly unlikely that something like AIDS could be spread by lesbians so I don't really think that's very justified. You'd think that with the world's population at critical mass people would welcome some people who choose not to breed.
All in all, I think homophobes just want someone they can scapegoat, isolate, demonize, etc. Bully mentality. Although, alot of people are just uneducated and live alot of their lives without having any opening of the mind.

I think that people in today's society have too much to say about a lot of things.
This is something they (we) have no control over so they tend to let everyone know what they think.
I am 100% heterosexual but am by no means homophobic, in the area i live there are a few same sexed partners and i get on well with them, in fact one couple regularly join us when we are out socializing and i have never heard anyone criticizing them, in fact they are a brilliant couple.
My deal on this is live and let live, this is a lifestyle they have chosen to follow so i have no problem with it.
This may sound a bit condescending and this is not my intent, so please do not take offense.
Good luck.

I am heterosexual, and I have no problem with homosexuals. There is so much more important issues in this world that need to be focused on. I feel that people can't help who they fall in love with or want to be with. Homosexuals should be able to marry, and even have the same benefits that come with heterosexual relationships.

Seen on a button: "The human race's strongest sexual instinct is the impulse to meddle in other people's sex lives."
I've got an interesting enough time trying to manage my OWN sexual life, thankyouverymuch! (Straight poly female here, FWIW.) Worrying about what two or more safe, sane, consenting adults are doing in privacy is, oh.... maybe about 76,247,953 on my "get around to doing" list....
Homosexuality is just one of the taboos that people still feel great sneering about, since drinking and gambling are so common, and heterosexual lustiness just isn't so shockingly naughty any more. Hopefully, the bigots will either grow out of it or die off; give them time---some of them CAN change and learn to look at folks differently.

I must say two things: Bible and Fear. Most of them usually take the book as a "law"; I just don´t exactly remember which chapter but you know all the "man and woman" thing. I have also noticed that unbelievably most of them fear that the world population will decrease (as if the world would turn gay), some others just don´t stand the fact that diversity exists. I must reduce all to Education, Costums, and Ignorance.

That's a good point. I think the main problem is that some people can't keep their noses out of other people's business. Any act between consenting adults that does not harm anyone else is your own business.
I believe in live and let live.

I always ask those heterosexuals, "If you are SOOOO straight, what do you care what another man does with his genitals?" If I was straight I wouldn't give it two seconds of my thought, the same way that I don't give two seconds of thought to heterosexuality. But it's an obsession with straight people.

I'm heterosexual and I don't care what you fairy queens do. I don't agree with homosexuality at all and I prefer not to see it but I care so little for it that I'm not going to go out of my way to chastize you or berate you regarding the fact that you are a homo. I really don't even want to waste a single drop of my energy preaching to someone or harassing them. Sure I may use some un PC terms to describe our rainbow loving citizens but its because I always have and don't see the need to change. If it makes you happy go out and homo it up to the fullest it doesnt effect me and my happiness go for it.

Because misery loves company.
When people are unhappy with their lives, they tend to try and ruin it for everyone else.
