I partied and slept over at a virtual stranger's house with a bunch of people, few of whom I knew, and got grounded promptly upon returning home the next day. It was my seventeenth birthday too.
Not too desperate, but at the time it sure seemed so.

I dressed up as Frank N Furter (Rocky Horror Show) and walked up and down the street like that....worked too...hehehe.
