You ovulate 14 days before you're period. But honestly if you use that method for contraception its not going to be accurate. Come on, use you're head here.

If you count how many days are in your cycle (day 1 being the 1st day of your period and the last day being the day before your next period) and divide the number of days in half. For example if there are 28 days in your cycle the 14th day after the 1st day of your period is your ovulation date. I would suggest to avoid unprotected intercourse 2 days before and 1 day after ovulation. Sperm can survive in your womb for a day or 2. If you go unprotected the sperm will be waiting for an egg to come down your tubes. My guess is that you don't want that. Good Luck

This time, I have a very reliable source for my answer to your question...Here it goes... Since your ovulation cycle is 28 days long, and ovulation occurs about midway in between.... The best time for you to try to conceive would be between the 14th & the 16th of the month--- So, if you really do not want to get pregnant, you need to avoid sex between the 10th untill about the 20th of the month (just to be safe ) But the best way is to use two forms of contraception...

Avoiding pregnancy in this fashion is risky, at best. If you must abstain during ovulation, I suggest getting a basal thermometer, and charting your temperature before you get up each morning (and that means before you even stand up, so keep it by your bed). When a woman ovulates, her basal temperature will rise slightly. I strongly urge another method of birth control if you truly want to avoid a pregnancy.

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating. It is a very helpful and free website.
Also try http://www.yourfreedays.com
Usually 14 days after your period is when you would be ovulating but check these sites out.
Good luck

I seem to know mine, But you cannot trust that as birth control! Sperm can survivefor quite some time especially in a womans vagina! the penis is like a loaded gun! Keep a condom on thet thing and do not trust so much.
