Unless you were blessed with perfect legs, they were never really out of style. What's in style mostly is whatever makes you look best, and you aren't going to look good with ugly veins in view, no matter what else you put on.

Pantyhose are loosing favor with the under 30 set in favor of stockings and hold ups. I wear stockings nearly every day, but could not imagine wearing pantyhose at work all day long, they are so uncomfortable and grandmotherly like. I don't know why anyone would ever wear pantyhose with the selection of stockings and hold ups available. Stockings are always much more sheer and thin than pantyhose because they don't need all they Lycra to hold them up.

I agree with Chameleon. It's not about what's "in style", but what works for you. One of the greatest mis-steps in fashion is to believe that you are a runway model or Hollywood star, who's genetic lottery win is what they're hired for. These women are chosen because of their perfect body, including legs. The average woman doesn't have the hours in the day or the financial resources to devote to trainers, training, diet, dietitians, chefs, tanning, etc. that these women do. Now that's not to say that there are not women out there with gorgeous legs that can go without, or starlets that should cover those nasty creature stems up. Case in point is Sarah Jessica Parker (see link to pic below, left without right with), observed by many as having the greatest negative impact on the hosiery industry, but one just has to look at a closeup of her legs and feet to come to the obvious conclusion the she needs to cover those things up! *gag* So it all comes down to being realistic with yourself and what makes you look best.

Pantyhose never went out of style. Women just started dressing more sloppily.

actually panti-hose are not back in style however nylon stockings are very much in style, the ones held up with a garterbelt,
The hot Pin-up Glamour thing has brought them back especially the Vintage RHT stocking or Full Fasion stocking

Opaque plain coloured pantyhose in black or dark colours are definately back in style!

They should be! I saw a real short skirt in the mall yesterday and the pasty white legs almost blinded me.

i hope so, there are some ugly legs out there, seriously, they are, pencil skirts and a 40;s pinup look is in with hose.

I can't say for the future.
But not currently. Leggings are more popular.
