yes, i had a friend who was an addict. i picked them up and helped them for years, but they came to a point where i was enabling their dis-ease, i had to love them enough to let them fall, because hitting rock bottom was the only thing that would open their eyes to their problem. thankfully they did wake up and get the help they needed.

I have turned my back on someone who thought they were in need, but were only in want to have.
I Need $xx to buy a game or I'm gonna die......
I have turned down people in need when I did not have,
for the most part, I try to be helpful, as so many have helped me, esp when growing up poor.

Yes, all the time you can see people on the street who needs help and you can't offer it, isn't it? But never to my family or friends.

Yes I have, because it is human nature to do so, and helping people is a strain on the mind, body, and soul. But I'm working on that one, especially lately :)

Yes I have, twice, and both instances involved risking personal injury in order to defend stupid, loudmouthed remarks; they just didn't seem honorable endeavors to me.

No. I don't think so. But few "friends" have done it to me repeatedly.
