Well, no. But sorta yes. We use age to describe how long person has been out of the womb, and since most people spend roughly the same amount of time in there, it really doesn't matter. People develop at different rates, so in the grand scheme of things, the extra month in the womb doesn't matter.

But here's where the "sorta yes" comes in. It's not directly relevant to the question you asked, but it's still important. Take, for instance, a child that is born extremely preterm at 20 weeks and miraculously survives. Their age as we culturally calculate it will begin once it is born, however, it still has to finish developing outside the womb just as most other babies developed inside the womb. So, even after about 6 months, the preterm baby will probably developmentally be 3-4 months behind a baby that was carried to full term. And in the first year of life, 3-4 months can make a big difference. Eventually the difference will become unnoticeable as the child ages though.

So, does this mean that your baby would be developmentally ahead of other babies? Maybe, but it will not be that noticeable because the ranges for certain development can vary based on plenty of other things besides gestational age.

No if it was born a month after its due date it would not make it a month older. It would make it the age of what month it was born. So if it was born on, say December 1st and its due date was November the 1st, it would make the baby 1 week old.

Well technically no, but my son is now 3 months old, he was born 3 weeks late. He is developed as if he was about a month older he does things that a typicall 4month old would. So if babies stay in the womb longer their brain stiil keep developing as if they where already born. he was also 10lbs at birth.

Hmmm, since your birthday is the celebration of your birthdate, and the mark of your age, why would you be older than your birthdate?
