If you speak good English and they make fun of you for it, then it just boils down to three things:
1, They feel inferior to you; 2, that kind of immaturity isn't worth it (most of the time).and 3, they would be the kind of people you'd rather NOT have a conversation with in English.

English is a great because its has become a medium of so many great ideas. Knowledge is the reason why its a social knife dividing everyone. The best thing to do is introduce them to reading or even watching TV sitcoms, make them see that the language isn't a tool to lord over them and in turn, will open up to so much more. Befriend them first so that way, even when you come off as pompous in speaking English, they wouldn't think of it as such because they know you already and you are not a show-off.

It also helps in speaking in a sincere voice. Ultimately, how you say it and how your disposition comes off will be the most important thing.

But still, if immaturity persists, find other intelligent people to talk to.

And if your situation comes well and you have ignited an amiable friendship (with or without perfect English), beware of the possibility that they might view you as a "genius" person. Even if you are intelligent, don't let it go to your head or you will lose people to talk to. In any language.

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

I was once stressed into translating on the final minute in the course of a church provider. I was once so embarrased..Even although I am a minimum of ninety% fluent in Spanish and I were to Colombia and Peru often and been alone and functioned simply great, my brain went clean, I iced over and many others..and many others.. all of it boiled down as you mentioned to trust...NOW translating is in and of itself a lot a lot more difficult than simply speakme with any one...I simply desired to provide an instance... (one million) principal is to discover any one or (people) to be round plenty for you to right you while you are making a mistake however in a loving approach, no longer a primary approach. (two) there are PHONETIC web sites that you'll be able to click on on a phrase and they are going to pronouce it...take a look at that everyday....keep at the equal phrase over and over again till you might have mastered it... (three) Be sufferer...it's been 10 years for me and I nonetheless get tripped up from time to time.. well success
