try and cultivate an interest in history
try to remember events chronologically and associate this with some stories --relevant ones. this will make it interesting and help facts register fast . they can also be retained better this way.

History is basically a story of what happened in the past. Don't memorize facts. Just understand the events in the correct order like a story. If you understand the story you will never forget a detail. After you get the major parts done all you have left are the dates.

Try to think of historical figures who u would be interested in knowing more about then research them instead of actual events, another way is to think of something you like doing then researching its origins.

Well,try to read some stories that will make you remember the actual facts.When reading about american civil war,find some stories about it.It'll help.
