It is important to respond to misinformation in any form. One of the reasons the christian right has so much power over so many people is that too many science-literates remain quiet. Education is the answer. Speak out!

I heard one of the creationists arguing with a talk show host, Thom Hartmann. He (the creationist) sounded like a Kindergartner. He had no answers other than the same lame reasoning thrown out there by other like minded people. "Well the two ideas need discussion." Right, two minutes of discussion is what they deserve. I cannot believe what is happening to this country (World). We are moving back into the dark ages. We did that more than once but the last time was about a thousand years ago wasn't it. It would be catastrophic I think to move backwards again like that. The only thing giving this movement credibility is the "W". What a moron.

They argue because they think that they are right and the other is wrong. There actually is no point in arguing about whether the universe was created by the big bang or by god or anything like that. I think that people should simply leave others to believe in what they want to and not try to correct them if you think that what they believe is wrong if it is something that no one can prove. We may never know how the universe started for sure, but we sure as heck don't need to argue over how we think it happened! I think that things like creation by god versus creation by other means should not be argued over or about and on matters like those, it would be best to leave others alone about what is right or wrong and wgat to believe.

There is not really anything bad that people would assume because you leave people to their own pointless and senseless arguments like these. But, seeing something like that on yahoo answers allows you to provide your opinion and possibly the suggestion that people stop having pointless arguments.
