Written communication is far more likely to be grammatically correct... or at least with fewer mistakes. Much spoken language, even English, would almost be a dialect- I mean, many of us use terms when we speak that are very colloquial that we tend to omit in writing.

spoken language is rightly called informal language where there is scope for broken , incomplete sentences , inconsistency of tenses[[ between different sentences]] -- not within same sentences. Written communication needs to be formal, adhere to standards , and slang is not permitted. Standard English should be used and punctuation should also be taken care of---- your voice modulation and pauses take care of this when you speak. -- we dont say 'comma' and semi colon when we talk . is it not? -- imagine how it would be ?
essentially you can get away with many things while you speak but written communication will not tolerate that.
