Wide Screen Movies in a wide screen monitor?

Question

I recently bought a new monitor for my computer thats wide screen.
However when i try to watch movies on it their more wide screen then my monitor so i still get black lines above and bellow my screen.

How can i correct this?

Change the monitor's ratio setting to 16X9, instead of 'Letterbox' .
