Why are used stamps collected for charity how do they get turned into cash? P.S What about milk bottle tops?

Stamps are bought by stamp dealers who pay cash for them by weight (not very much). They're usually sold on to foreign collectors.

I think milk bottle tops are or were sold to recycling companies.

Churches collect stamps from various areas and sell them to collectors or dealers for money.

Im not sure about milk..
