BIOS flashes are really the dominant reason that floppy drives are still put into computers. While a few companies have developed software that will let you update your BIOS through Windows, almost all BIOS flashing requires a floppy drive and floppy disk.
Also, think about it. Would you NOT put a part that cost you around $5 into an $800 or $1,000 computer, if there was a pretty good chance that 5-10% of the people who were considering buying it would decide to go with your competitor's product, that had that $5 part? I know I wouldn't.

The first answer that comes in my mind in that the market [aka people like me, like you, like he...] is still asking 4 floppy drives, and so they are still fabricated and delivered. Be sure that they were lost 4 ever if nobody wants them
So u ask why the people need floppy?
Well, there are those ones not so up2date that only use floppy, because they were borned with floppy [lets say the old users, or however, mams & dads that just don't wanna know about other devices, and a floppy is enough.....some people stop learning about PC when they reach an age, because PC, after all, are not so important]
Also u use a floppy 4 data transfer, and if you go from a winXP to a Win98 with a floppy is ok. But if you go from XP to 98 with a pen that it might be a good chance that the win98 won't recognize your pen, and u need drivers to install, and.....
Also a floppy is good 2 boot your computer....
Some special automatic systems build 4 industry use floppy 4 data transfer.
However, they are still in power, but i don't believe it will be 4 too long!
For a normal user, the need 4 floppy is decreasing, but sometimes a floppy can help......still can help :)

backwords compatability.
hey, I got a huge stack of floppies that I still want to use,
good thing the new computer has them.
esp in industry computers, were the program may need to be installed from floppies.
the liscence doesn't allow you to copy the software to a thumb drive,or the program doesn't work on a thumbdrive.
did you know the space shuttle uses an "AT class" computer( ask your dad, or maybe grandfather what that is)?
its not even as fast as a pda, or some wristwatches.
but it works, and they don't have to change out the software..
by the way, it uses floppy drives too.

it may matter on what you want to save a million) Floppy disc holds a million.44mb and maximum computers at present dont have them so it really is in common words sensible for small quantities of files like note information or spreadsheets 2) A CD carry 650/700mb it really is about 10 albums in MP3 format or some 1000 note clinical docs/spreadsheets. maximum computers have those so that's probable a million of the perfect thoughts. 3) A pen rigidity can carry 250mb to 4gb. that's good with it being transportable and may carry one hundred's of mp3's and they are quite good. 4) puzzling rigidity? i'm assuming you mean exterior? those are probable the most good storage contraptions protecting some thing from 80gb to 4tb. that's the equivalent to 500,000mp3's and 1000's of dvd high quality video clips. you may %. up a 500gb unit for round £one hundred. (that's what i'd bypass for) 5) There are tapes or zip discs yet they arent extremely common, frequently severe priced and by no skill too good. the in common words different situation you have not suggested are dvd-r discs frequently 4.4gb and paintings the very similar way as a cd yet with an greater means and obviously you want a dvd author. wish this facilitates

In the environment of liberties, we should trust choices of the customers. In time, probably no customer would choose to buy floppy drives, and they will disappear. Just like 5.25 inch drives (anybody old enough may remember them).
