I work at a mall & on Tuesday I took my break at 5pm, I walked to my car there were people standing around my car & the car next to mine..there was a police officer there & he asked me how long the damage had been on the front right passenger side of my car I replied that it had been there for months. The damage to my car had occurred in June of this year. The car I hit had no damage & mine just had a scratch & a crack in the spot I mentioned above so we never contacted authorities, after I told the officer he said that the car parked next to me at work on this particular day had been hit, he asked if I had done it, I said no! Nothing else was said that day. Then, Today, I was at work & an officer came in & said he had video of my car hitting the car. I asked to see the tape & he didnt have it! He said he'd give me the weekend to tell the truth or charges will be made, I said I dont need the weekend to think, I didnt do it! He told me I'm lying! What do I do? I DID NOT HIT THIS CAR!

THere is nothing to fight! You didnt hit the car so he DOESNT have tape of you hitting it. Cops always says stuff like that to try to get you to confess. I dont understand how they justify lying but...

And trust me, if you did hit the car... then they will be pressing charges anyway. But think about it... if they had tape of someone killing another person or tape of someone robbing another person, they wouldnt say: "well I know you did it but, I'm gonna give you a chance to come clean." That is so dumb. Trust me, he doesnt have anything on you. and if he really does then make him use it. Dont just hand him a win. If he had a tape of me he would have to use it in court. I'm not gonna give anybody anything off of a bluff. They are gonna have to show me! I suggest that you MAKE him show you this "tape".

Good Luck and keep the fight alive. If you are black then... what else would you expect. If you are not black then... I'm making you an honorary BLACK MAN today. Welcome to the struggle brother. Welcome to the struggle.

Call your insurance company and tell them what is happening. They will want copies of our timecards from work to show what time you came in and that you didn't leave. Tell your company the officer told you there was a tape and they will try to get it. They will also try to find out what time the other person is claiming they were hit (including by asking for shopping receipts that will be date/time stamped).
You will want your company to get photos of your car immediately and the other car so they can compare damages.

You don't say anything at all except show me the tape. A car accident is just a car accident. Even if you left the scene it was parked, no injuries. MAYBE they can summons you.. The insurance company's will handle it and/or they can take you to civil court but you can't be arrested so don't be intimidated.

Hey, calm down man. If u did not hit that car, why you have to worry? just wait for the action. If he wanted to charge you, they must gather evidence. If he force you to admit, then make a police report.

If you are telling the truth--lawyer up--do not talk with the police anymore. if you are telling the truth the cop is obviosly bluffing to get a confession. If they pursue it get a lawyer.

My guess is there is no evidnece and it will be dropped.

What a way of conduct for the police. Its funny that this happens in America. I think that you should call a lawyer for this and take further advise.

stick to the truth, then you have nothing to worry about or lies to remember!
the officer who says he has a video is trying to sweat you out, id go to the police station and ask them if its normal policy for thier officers to go around and accuse people of crimes with no proof?
