Because someone back in the day said pay with money not with your heart. An authentic healer provides you with the best care they are able to provide and asks nothing. You pay them what you value them to be. You have a choice to pick whom you believe can best suit your needs. But you have to DO what increases your health and not only expect the magic to come and heal you. Any healer knows that. They generally teach you to fix yourself. But without that skill building ironically you return to pay more money or pay in other ways you've paid before.

Well, crappy pscyhologists might do that. And yes, there certainly are a lot of those. But they're trained not to be stereotypical and predictable but instead motivate your mind into positive thinking changes.

If they use platitudes (aka cliches) like your parents or even close friends probably would, then you wouldn't change your thinking and thus your behavior would stay the same. Good psychologists know how to surprise you, and build up your own self-confidence. Bad psychologists don't.

not all of them are, but a lot get paid way too much for just that. I guess they are trying to pay for their schooling. haha! and you know, maybe someone's dad wasn't smart enough to tell them that sort of thing or to even nod his head. i tell you what, people would pay a rock just to listen to them a little bit. sometimes nobody else in their lives will shut up enough to listen to them and give them some simple advice.

it is really relative or subjective even. some people would spend so much in search for peace of mind.... so how much are you willing to achieve such peace of mind? and the next question is, will it be worth it? if so, then so be it. at times, some people mistook going to the psychologist as a way to find peace.... with so many of them, the shrinks rake it in

Yep... you are right.
They get paid so much because someone sees that "understanding" their problems makes them special.

Money changes hands because what your parents told you, and what you have had to experience in the REAL world.....

Oh I'm sorry.... might be entirely different!

Sh..it, how could that happen?

I need to pay someone $200 an hour, because Mom/Dad never hugged me!!!

Give me a fu*#king break.

Get real.

It is hush-money!!! You are paying them to keep your information to themselves...that is why you can tell them such embarrassing stuff!
