The best places is the Transilvanian landscapes, the Moldova Monasters like Piatra Neamt, Varatec, Agapia and Voronet, the Prahova Valley, the mounten area. From 1.1.07 Romania became the EU member, the city of Sibiu is the EU 2007 cultural city with many exhibitions, multimedia, photo, etc.

I had an awesome year working there for Connex (now Vodafone).

The best memories are driving around the country visiting the smaller towns and meeting all the friendly people. The Romanian language is pretty easy to learn, too.

The worst memories were being chased around by packs of stray dogs in the winter.

Romania is poised to be a leader in Europe. It has a large fertile area and lots of resources. Poiana Brasov is already becoming a popular ski destination. I wish I had bought some land there when it was cheap back in the 90's.
