I'm not sure how you can have 1.4.2 or 2.2.2, but I can do part of the sum!

The first one:
(1.4.2 x 104) + 265

The second one:
(2.2.2 x 1012) - 8088

You have to multiply the two numbers in the bracket first, becfore carrying out the second step (adding or subtracting).
Hope that makes some kind of sense!

"1.4.2 x 104 cm + 2.5 x 106 cm =
2.2.2 x 1012 kg – 8 x 1011 kg = "
Hmm... if you would ask this kind of problem to be calculated, it goes like this...

For the first question:
4.2 x 104 cm + 2.5 x 106 cm.
You would first multiply 4.2 by 104 and 2.5 by 106. That becomes 436.8 cm and 265 cm. The next thing you should do is to add them, and that will give you 701.8 cm.

For the second question:
2.2 x 1012 kg - 8 x 1011 kg.
With this, you should do the same thing. 2.2 x 1012 and 8 x 1011, which will give you 2226.4 kg and 8088 kg respectively. After that, you can now add them, which will then give you 10314.4 kg.

I dont know where you picked these kinds of questions from. I am sure they are not from this planet. There is no function/programme that will accept a number with more than one decimal point. QED.
