She is 5 weeks pregnant ,is it to late to take an abortion pill and if it is What types of abortions are available?
Also my fiance is making sure I get a vasectomy in two weeks to prevent it from happening again and I agree

When we are ready for a kid we are going to adopt ....my wife's twin sister has adopted two children from china
We believe it is very selfish to give birth to a child when their are millions of orphans ......we will never change our minds on that belief

There is a medical abortion, which is achieved by taking two pills (one at a clinic and another later), the first orally and inserting the other as a vaginal suppository. The first causes the embryo to detach from the uterine walls. The second causes contractions, which expel the pregnancy. At five weeks she will probably be allowed to choose this type if the clinic offers it.

There is also a surgical abortion. This is known as a D & E or a D & C, depending on how far along she is. At this point it would be a D & E, standing for Dilation and Evacuation. Her cervix would be dilated and the pregnancy evacuated from the uterus. A D & C, which would become necessary if she waits another few weeks, would involve Dilating the uterus as well as Curretage to remove the pregnancy, as it is more established. There is a greater risk of infection or scarring because of the curretage.

With a medical abortion, there is a risk of incomplete abortion. Sometimes the embryo does not detach from the uterus entirely, or survives, or is not expelled. She will have to sign a form which states that she understands this risk. If an incomplete abortion occurs, she will have to have a surgical abortion, which at that point would end up being a D & C. So some women choose to have a D & E in the first place. The clinic staff will explain her options in detail when she arrives for the initial exam.

How can someone that answers your question, in their own way, on an open question and answer board be reported as harassing you? You want to know about abortions. To take a life with the plans to get an adopted child down the way is the most pitiful excuse I've heard in some time. Instead, why not just admit that you and your girlfriend are scared to the bottoms of your feet! The pregnant woman is evidently thinking with her hormones at the moment and you're running scared of being a father, so think about it some more! There are no easy abortions for the unborn child, after all, their life is being taken. Saline solution burns the skin off, the D & C is cutting up the still living child in the uterus. For the woman, the child might be expelled, but she'll regret it the rest of her life and no matter how much counseling she gets or how hard-hearted she believes herself to be, she is going to be sorry and if you encourage her, she'll blame you in some deep, dark and secret part of her mind until one day it escapes and you'll get it with both, figurative here, barrels. Life experience, personal, also teaches that most adoption agencies are going to look at the fact that she had an abortion and be leery of her adopting. Unless there was a good reason for the abortion, such as drug or severe alcohol use, rape or insanity in the family.
Yep, go ahead and get it; forget about taking some time to step back, take a few deep breaths and get some oxygen into your scared brain so you are thinking clearly again. Any man and woman that makes a baby in a committed relationship and kills it because there are too many orphans in the world, that they want to adopt later, do not need to reproduce! You are making you own choices and no one can change your minds. well 5 weeks along is not to far to get the tablets. I am 10 weeks pregnant now and I also wanted to take and abortion first, but then I changed my mind. Your other opsition is the suction pipe. Why not have it and give it up for adoption?

I hope you will find the joy out of a child like I found mine in my daughter now 9 and will find with my second one. I am only 25. I've been through and abortion once before, but now I am happy I did.

Well, at 5 weeks a clinic could give your fiancee a pill that will make her have a period. After 8 weeks they do a vaccumm abortion. Later than that they can do an D&C. I was told that the vaccumm abortion makes recovery a little easier although you have to endure bleeding on and off for about a month (I'm just coming to the end of my month). Good luch. Call Planned ParentHood or some other abortion clinic for information.

Wow you are really fishing for some nastiness. You have to be bogus but I will play along...

First of all there is only one type of abortion and the morning after pill doesn't really constitute abortion but taking responsibility after the fact and it only works for 72 hours post intercourse.

Yes, please get a vasectomy and do the world and any waiting souls a favor.

I've always thought, if you are ready to have sex you should be ready for a kid unless you can simply be smart and safe.

I hope that if you really believe that "it is very selfish to give birth to a child when their are millions of orphans" that you won't have a chance in hell to adopt one of those poor kids.

I see abortion as an option for some circumstances but using it as birth control or a way to erase your mistake is just irrational. Why not add to the orphans or hey just have your child and raise it.

I planned for my son after 10 years of being sexually active without making the mistake of getting pregnant and it wasn't hard.

Sad to say, but you will be doing this child a service to abort and getting a vasectomy is a wonderful idea...you might also consider asking your fiance' to get her tubes tied since neither of you should be able to conceive with your beliefs and stupidity.

Pretty much what Acadia has answered, and, in addition,
one type of abortion is abortion by suction, when the surgen uses vacuum. It is not necessarily needed to dilute the cervix. This type of abortion consists of the surgean performing a genecological exam first, checking the size and position of the uterus, and then the abortion itself, which takes about 5 mins. Menstrual-like cramps may be felt for about a minute.

I don't understand this at all.. Why would you not want to have a baby that belongs to the both of you by blood? I would rather have kids that belonged to me than ones that came from china.
Why don't she have her baby and still yet adopt?

It's a decision you will have to live with for the rest of your life. I believe the option should be available, but a decision like this stays with you forever (at least for the woman). This may sound off the wall, but why not give someone the chance to adopt your baby? Build up your karma a bit. WIsh her luck.
