Looking for musicians that recorded with K-tel & years they were with K-Tel Records.

K-Tel released 'original songs by original artists', just like the NOW cds that come out now. I think you're thinking about a series of albums/tapes that came out with hit songs but that were done by studio musicians called 'The Original Artists' and not done by the 'actual' original artists. The reason they called the studio musicians/singers 'The Original Artists' was so they could get away with putting that on the covers to make the buyer think it was really the artist who sang it. Many people were fooled but never felt cheated because they were done 'so good' ... lol You'd be listening to one, then suddenly realise it wasn't the original singer but it would make you laugh and feel good anyway... :-)
