I was a size 8 UK and started wearing maternity clothes at about 13 weeks. I wasn't really showing at that stage, but my waist got bigger and my normal clothes felt too tight, so I found maternity clothes more comfy.
I found Next a really good place to buy - they sell a number of different types of jeans that just have a discreet pocket panel, so not even noticable as maternity jeans. At 20 weeks, I still wear them with a belt and have masses of room left. Next also do some cool combat trousers.
Of course, the UK shops are currently full of long smock tops and leggings, so you could fit into loads of them and still look fashionable.
I don't think anyone will think you are silly for wearing maternity clothes, they won't even notice unless you start only wearing dungarees!!

sounds like you are at that point! i also had to start wearing maternity clothes around 14 weeks with my second child. the main thing is, you should be comfortable. luckily they do make size extra-small in maternity, although it is hard to find. i had the best luck in the juniors department, because there are plenty of those tops that flare out at the bottom. also, if you wear tight shirts or sweaters, you can really show your new little bump off, before the rest of you catches up! i wore tighter regular tops until my back got a little too fatty. =) and for pants, i just bought bigger jeans - low rise - and stretchy. that will last for a little while, and then you can use a hair band to hold the botton for even more wear.
be proud of your belly. the more you flaunt it, the less people will think you are just getting fat!

aww i had the exact same problem.i didnt start showing until i was 5months pregnant but maternity trousers were HUGE and it got me really wound up! so all through my pregnancy i wore low rise size 8 jeans!! they can b so low it wont squish baby. Also i managed to find some size 8 jeans with a tracksuit bottom style waist which was handy so keep your eye out,if non off them are comfy enough, leggins under a skirt are in fashion and would be bump friendly and mega cosy ,if non of those take your fancy you could try on some feminin sweatpants? u seem like a mummy to be that still wants to make the effort when your pregnant and sop you shouls but handsom sweatpants you could still get away with some cute flat shoes? give it go girl and goodluck x

I really wouldnt bother about what other people might think, you have to go with how you feel! If your clothes are tight and you have a bump then its not too early atall, as long as your comfortable thats all that matters. Im on my fourth pregnancy and had to start wearing materninty clothes quite early too Also I was slim so your bump will be look bigger :)

It is "OKAY" to start wearing maternity clothes, when you feel the need to do so, don't worry about what other people think, everyone can comment, but, at the end of the day the only person that has to feel comfortable, is you...
Do what you want, its your pregnancy and your body.. Good Luck

If you're uncomfortable in your regular clothes, then it's time to switch to maternity clothes. I'm short, so my baby had nowhere to go but OUT, and I started wearing maternity clothes around the 12th week, if memory serves. Just wear what makes you comfortable, and don't worry about what somebody else thinks!

I switched to maternity pants at 15 weeks. i became searching for some thing "in-between" because it really is compared to i became vast, yet anybody advised me to in common words make the swap early to stay mushy. after I went to the Motherhood save in my mall, the pants in advantageous condition fairly nicely and the salespeople guaranteed me my abdomen may nonetheless in advantageous condition later. They actually have a faux abdomen you may strap on to work out how issues will in advantageous condition later. The pants do slip down slightly of with in common words a small abdomen to carry them up, and also you want a lengthy blouse to conceal the stretch panel (fortuitously it really is what's chic now besides). yet you won't be able to tell them except for ordinary pants, except they sense so a lot extra perfect than my different pants. I also offered a abdomen band, yet i did not like that as well because the maternity bottoms. And any day i visit positioned on a sundress is likewise mushy too, so do not rule taht out, there are a selection of empire-waisted kinds which will very last you some months a minimum of. good luck!!

What do you mean "When is it ok"?? Do you think you have to wait till a special date or something??
If your normal clothes are too tight then start wearing maternity clothes!!!
I don't think you "have to wear jeans and fitted tops" I have never heard anything as ridiculous in my life! I don't know many women who had to resort to wearing mens clothes but you might be glad of sweatpants when you get to 36 weeksplus and are more uncomfortable than you have ever been in your life.
You are pregnant for godsake, not on a catwalk in Paris or New York!

I started wearing maternity jeans at about 12 weeks as I couldn't fit into my regular jeans and didn't want to hurt myself or my baby by forcing my body into clothing that was too small.

Sweetheart do not squish your body because of what other people might think. You are a mother, take strength and Self-confidence from that role. Wear the maternity clothes as soon as you need them to be comfortable.
