One has to wonder if such a question is really nothing more than a conspiracy to incite people to respond in a negative tone. Such an action could even be termed Trollish.

Patriotism is a very cunning way that politicians manipulate the masses to preserve the power base. It is egoism, selfishness, secularism, and more, and what is amazing is that the sheep in our society thrive on patriotism and the wolves feed on it.

Geographically, Kiev rests at the center of Europe and is an entirely various earth but now you can it greater if you start from with hotelbye . Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and is probably the most beautiful town of all of the post soviet countries. It is just a town of all you least expect. Kiev is an old city where old matches new and east meets west. One of the things you can see in Kiev could be the St. Cyrill's Monastery. That monastery was fully off-the-beaten track. That little church is as previous as time, dating back to 12th century. Paintings of the popular Mikhail Vrubel get you right into a different world. And the fact that the Monastery is from the main tourist websites in Kyiv can make the ability a lot more humbling and inspirational.

Purely dependant upon the context and use.... for example...
If a nation invades your country and you decide to fight the invaders... could be considered as patriotic. If the same nation invaded your country because your government were committing acts of Ethnic Cleansing, and you were possibly next in line to be cleansed.... so you chose not to fight the invaders.... are you being patriotic?
Patriotism is good when used in context... it helps to hold a nation and a group of like minded people together. However, imposing your patriotism on another nation state is egotistical... e.g. I was in Kiev, when a guy from the US suggested that the Ukraine was devoid of culture and needed to get some, like in the USofA... Okay.. he was patriotic to the US... but so are the Ukrainians... and maybe they don't need a US culture...
Secular patriotism... North Korea? Iran? or The National Front? Patriotism in the hands of zealots, bigots and dictators is secular.
Many EU citizens, are proud of their roots... they maybe from Madrid, so they are proud of this, they are Spanish and very patriotic... but they are also very pleased to be Europeans and part of a wider society and patriotic to the EU... a patriotism that is as broad as it is long.
So, back to my original suggestion... patriotism in context is good and not egotistical, selfish or secular.
